Halo semuanya,

Udah lama ga sharing soal make-up.

Tahan lama, terus gampang banget diblend.
  3. Aplikator Alis : Karena si ABH ini medit banget, udah harganya lumayan mahal ga di kasih brush pula. Jadi aku beli aplikator khusus alis merk NYX.
  4. Lipstick : Item lipstick pastinya wajib biar bibir kita tidak terlihat pucat. Apalagi bibirku ini, warnanya pink pucat jadi kalau ga pake lipstick itu keliatan kayak orang sakit. Sering aku ga pake make up gitu, dikira lagi sakit.
Jadi andalan banget dipake sebagai daily product untuk make up. Aku pake brand Kyle Cosmetics.
  6. Blush on : Sejak tahun 2015, aku hobi banget pake Blush On. Satu swap aja warnanya udah keluar jadi bakal awet banget walaupun ukurannya cuma 3gr. Aplikatornya blush dari brand Real Technique.
Mudah banget dipake tapi kalau dibuat Wudhu, langsung deh ilang. Tapi ya tinggal diaplikasikan lagi sih, ga pake meluber karena dia cepet kering.
  8. Highlihgter : Ini aku pake kalau pas lagi niat foto-foto OOTD aja.
  9. Eyeshadow : Aku pake Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick, yang sebenernya ini tuh shimmer buat finishing make up, tapi dipake buat eyeshadow cucok abis di mataku. Pigmented parah deh hahaha. Sayang nya dia gampang pecah, jadi aku lapisin kapas didalemnya.
Nah itu dia barang yang aku pake buat make up sehari-hari, simple kan? Aku cuma abisin waktu 10 menit buat make semua make up itu.

GOT TINY BUMPS ALL OVER YOUR FOREHEAD? TRY DOUBLE CLEANSING FOR SMOOTH SKIN.

Do you have tiny, colourless bumps all over your forehead? Kind of like the skin on your forehead has a  bumpy texture? It’s not pimples, it’s not a red rash, it’s tiny bumps all over your forehead (and sometimes near your jaw as well).

That bumpy texture is clogged pores. Usually coming from build up of dead skin cells, skin care products, oil and debris, and pollution.

A great trick to get rid of those bumps is double cleansing your skin at night. If you do it correctly, you can get rid of those bumps quite easily (sometimes in a few days, sometimes it take a few weeks), and your skin will be super smooth as well.

WHAT IS “DOUBLE CLEANSING” YOUR SKIN?

Double cleansing is simply washing your face twice in a row with a VERY gentle, non-foaming, oil-based cleanser (more details on how to double cleanse properly, and what to use below). You only double cleanse your skin once a day, at night (never in the morning).

WHY IS DOUBLE CLEANSING SO EFFECTIVE AT KEEPING YOU SKIN SMOOTH (AND GETTING RID OF BUMPY TEXTURE)?

Bumpy skin on your forehead is a symptom that your skin is congested.

Your pores are probably being blocked by skin care products, dead skin cells, oil and sebum, hair care products, pollution, makeup, or sunscreen that is building up on the surface of your skin (usually it’s a combination of these things).

Makeup and skin care products (especially foundation and sunscreens) are not the easiest to remove. Many times if you’re wearing a lot of products and makeup on your face, when you wash your face at night, your cleanser might not be removing everything at one go. Or, it’s removing the makeup, sunscreen, and products, but not removing the dead skin cells underneath or lifting sebum that’s building up in your pores.

If you wear foundation, sunscreen, makeup, many layers of skin care products – you need to make sure you remove all products thoroughly at the end of the day, before washing your face. And, that’s what “double cleansing” is. Step 1 is washing your face to remove all makeup, sunscreen, skin care products, debris and pollution. Step 2 is washing your face again to wash away dead skin cells and sebum.

You should only double cleanse your skin at night, after a long day of wearing products on your skin. There’s no need to double cleanse your skin in the morning, and in fact if your do so, you could potentially be over cleansing your skin, irritating it, and drying it out.

As long as you use a very gentle, oil-based cleanser to double cleanse your skin and only do this at night,  you will see the texture of your skin begin to smooth out quite rapidly, even in a few days. That’s because you’re thoroughly removing everything that is building up on the surface of your skin, and sloughing off dead skin cells and sebum that could be clogging up your pores.

This techniques is essentially cleaning and exfoliating your skin very gently, without using abrasive scrubs, irritating ingredients, or being rough on your skin.

WHO SHOULD DOUBLE CLEANSE?

You should double cleanse your skin at night if your skin has a bumpy texture, and you answer “yes” to any of the following things:

You wear sunscreen or sunblock (chemical or physical sunblocks)
You wear foundation
You wear a lot of concealer and face powder
You wear a lot of skin care products during the day
You live in an area where there is a lot of pollution
You live in a hot or humid climate
You have bangs
You use a lot of hair styling products
You regularly wear hats

HOW TO DOUBLE CLEANSE

Remove eye makeup and lipstick
Take a small amount of your oil-based cleanser and gently rub it into your dry skin on your face and neck.
Rinse your face and neck with water, or wipe the cleanser off your face with a damp clean washcloth or flannel.
Gently apply another small amount of your oil-based cleanser to your face and neck.
Rinse your face and neck again with water, or use a damp washcloth or flannel to remove the cleanser.
Allow your face and neck to air dry before applying any skin product.

THE DOUBLE CLEANSE RULES

To get the best results, details count! Follow the rules below to ensure you’re doing everything properly.

Never wash your face with soap, foaming, or lathering cleansers.
Only double cleanse your skin with a very gentle cleanser that is preferably oil-based (like an cleansing oil, cleansing cream, cleansing milk, or cleansing balm – some of my personal recommendations are below).
Don’t double cleanse your skin with a water-based gel cleanser (an oil-based gel cleanser should be ok). A water-based gel cleanser can be too striping/drying if used twice in a row.
Never double cleanse with medicated cleansers (anything containing benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, etc.)
Never double cleanse with an exfoliant or a cleanser that has a grainy or abrasive texture.
Never use a face brush or gadget to double cleanse (like a Clarisonic brush).
If you use honey to cleanse your skin, you can use it in your double cleansing routine, but only for the second cleanse. For example, wash your face once with a cleansing oil, milk, or balm; and follow by washing your face a second time with honey (honey can be quite astringent, so best only to use it once for cleansing or else it can irritate your skin).
Only double cleanse your skin at night.
Never double cleanse your skin in the morning (there’s no need, you’ve already thoroughly washed your face of makeup, sunscreen, debris and pollution at night). If you double cleanse in the morning, you’ll be over washing your face, stripping it of it’s natural protective oils, and irritating it. Better to wash your face just once in the morning like you normally do.
If you have dry or sensitive skin, only double cleanse your skin on days you are wearing sunscreen, foundation, or heavy skin care products.
On days where you’re not wearing makeup or sunscreen, and your skin is left bare; no need to double cleanse your skin at night.

WHAT HAPPENS ONCE YOUR FOREHEAD CLEARS UP?

When your skin clears up, it’s up to you and your situation if you should or even need to continue double cleansing your skin at night.

If you normally don’t wear anything on your face during the day, once your skin clears up from the double cleansing, you can stop double cleansing, and go back to washing your face just once at night.

If you wear makeup, foundation, sunscreen, or live in a hot, polluted area, you’ll probably want to continue double cleansing (especially on days when you’re wearing foundation and/or sunscreen). You can always just double cleanse on days that you’re wearing makeup or sunscreen, or feel like your skin needs more thorough cleansing. Some people prefer to double cleanse every night, others rather double cleanse every other night, or even every two nights. It’s really up to how your skin is responding to it, and what feels best for you.

Our licensed aestheticians get some frequently asked questions about KBeauty, skincare and more. In this ongoing series titled “Lily Answers” our resident skin professionals answer our most frequently asked questions so you can be totally radiant! Have a question, leave us a comment below!

Sheet masks are easily the simplest and fastest way to hydrate your skin. And they’re pretty much the soul of Korean skin care routines and packed with good-for-you skincare ingredients.

But for most, the question of  ‘what product goes on when, and in what order?’ is as divisive as the whole chicken versus the egg debate. While the jury is still out on the latter, we have a definitive answer on the former, especially when it comes to sheet masks.

The key to knowing when to use a sheet mask in your skincare routine is to know the steps.

Start by double cleansing (oil cleanser followed by water cleanser).
Follow that up by using a toner for your skin type.
Next comes the serum/essence/ampoule/oil. Because a sheet mask is essentially like an “a la carte” version of an essence (and is soaked in powerful skincare ingredients), this would be the place to add it to your skincare routine.
To really get the most out of your sheet mask, you’re going to want to let it sit on your skin uninterrupted for 20 minutes (which guarantees that you get some “me-time”). You can also place your favorite serum on under your sheet mask to create a “sheet mask sandwich” and really bolster the effects even more. It’s also important to note, that you shouldn’t overdo it with the sheet masks. One sheet mask per day is more than enough, but it’s really dependent on your skin type and if you have oily skin once a week might be your max.

Post-sheet mask, you’ll want to apply eye cream and then top that off with a moisturizer, which will help seal in the benefits of your sheet mask. While you still might not be able to answer whether the chicken or the egg came first, you can certainly tell which product comes first in a skincare routine — and you’ll have glowing skin, to boot!

TONER WASH METHOD- THE KBEAUTY HACK FOR EXTRA MOISTURE

Toner Wash Method- The KBeauty Hack for Extra Moisture
While American toners are known for being drying and harsh, toners in Korea are a vital step in balancing and hydrating skin. So much so that the 7-Skin Method went viral in Korea and overseas last year. ICYMI, a refresh: seven layers of toner are patted on one by one to boost moisture. The layering method is thought to better help skin absorb nutrients and hydration instead of just spreading a large dab on at all once. Think of it like a sponge slowly absorbing water till it’s full, it more efficiently absorbs hydration than a brittle sponge trying to soak up a pool of water all at once. After trying the 7-Skin method, Korean beauty editors and bloggers reported bouncier, dewy skin. Now, “Toner Wash” is the latest way to  hydrate and prep skin.

How does it work?

First, cleanse your skin; we’re partial to the double cleanse which involves using an oil based cleanser to remove makeup and grime followed by a water based cleanser to further dissolve any lingering residue and water-based impurities. Instead of waiting even a few seconds to apply toner post- cleanse, toner wash offers a splash of moisture by combining a hydrating toner with water into your final rinse of. To DIY your own toner wash, simply mix a couple of drops of toner into a palmful of water. Alternatively, you can pour several drops of toner into a small bowl of water. Then, use this concoction as the last step of your rinse and pat dry. Keep in mind, you are roughly creating a proportion of 9 parts water to 1 part toner.

Like many skincare hacks that go viral (like gritting), Reddit users have been trying this new method. User pdxbeautiful wrote on the Asian Beauty subreddit that since implementing the Toner Wash Method with a calendula tincture, she noticed her breakouts healing and decreased redness. “I was pretty skeptical but this has made my skin incredible soft and smooth. The biggest result that I have seen so far is that it has helped a few stubborn breakouts to heal,” she writes.

How to Find The Right Toner For Your Skin Type
Whether you opt for a tincture or a toner, finding the right formula is half the battle. Find your perfect match below. Even after your final rinse with water, apply a couple of drops of toner to balance skin.

Dry– Flakey skin types are often most fearful of toners. Look for hydrating ingredients like honey and hyaluronic acid. We love this viscous royal jelly infusion version from Be The Skin.

Oily – Look for a formula that unclogs pores. The Mizon AHA & BHA Daily Clean Toner contains salicylic acid which helps keep oil at bay and gently exfoliates large, rough pores.

Combination– Try the Aromatica Tea Tree Toner which hydrates dry patches with aloe vera but also balances sebum production with tea tree leaf extract.

Normal– A combination of  fermented lotus, pomegranate, and sodium hyaluronate work synergistically to lightly hydrate and balance skin in the Shangpree Bitgoa Hue Essence toner.
